Week 1 Advancements

As promised, the advancement list from week 1 has been posted at the link on the right.  Please remember that our focus at WRC is not advancement, but fun, so hopefully you weren't expecting a huge list of awards. In 3 days, you can only accomplish so much!  If you have any questions regarding our list, please contact us at
Don't forget that there's still plenty of room for scouts wanting to attend week 2!

Thanks for a great week!

We'd like to thank everyone for another great week at WRC!!  While we don't have too many more pictures to post, we'd like to invite any of our brave parents that attended to send us yours if you had your camera with you.  You can email them to us at  We hope all the boys had a great time and welcome any parents to send us your feedback, good or bad.
Remember that any boy wishing to attend our second session (August 10-15) is welcome to!  We have plenty of room left.  If you register for week 2 by July 8th, and you attended week 1 or are attending day camp, you will receive a $50 discount.

We did come home with some lost and found items.  If you notice your son is missing anything, please let us know!
Thanks again for a great week!  Enjoy your summers!

Good job boys!
As our final day approaches, we want to remind everyone that our closing flag ceremony will begin promptly at 9:45 am, followed by our closing campfire at 10.  Boys will have their gear on the big field (Boonesville).  Please do not arrive prior to 9:30am to pick up your son.  They will have site duties to take care of before they are allowed to leave.  If for some reason you need to leave before the camfire, please talk to Ryan LaRoche directly before taking your scout.  We'll see you all tomorrow!

Day 2

While day 2 of WRC week 1 brought muggy weather and some surprise rain showers, the fun was in full force!  We had our assessment this morning and we're happy to report that we passed and we are officially a BSA accredited summer camp!!  Yay!!  Thanks to our assessment team, our staff, and our campers for making a big impression!
That being said, here are some photos of the boys having fun!
Today we had fishing...but the fish weren't cooperating today!

We held our first day of conservation project--pulling invasive plants!

Our campwide Boonesville games are always a bit hit!

As you can see, our staff gets right into it!

 It's all about teamwork!

The weather for tomorrow promises to be beautiful and we can't wait!

Week 1, Day 1, 2014

Whew!  First day of WRC 2014 done!!  Day 1 is always the hardest with the chaos of check in, finding tents, and figuring out schedules.  We thank you all for your patience with us while we worked through the bugs of med checks.  Kudos to Kathryn our med officer for her amazing patience and sunny personality!
With that said, we were super lucky that Mother Nature helped us out today and kept the storms and the rain away.  While it was hot and sticky today, the boys had a great time!  Check out these few pictures we took today during our program areas...
learning the square knot in scoutcraft
Patrol leader Griffin helping with tying knots
Shooting the BBs

Playing capture the flag during sports (drinking lots of water, of course!)

Huddling up for another round of capture the flag

Waterfront was the place to be today!
The pink patrol playing a quick game during down time
The orange patrol enjoyed some cool slushies--perfect for a hot day like today!
Stay tuned for more pictures and activities from WRC.  Tomorrow is our camp assessment.  Everyone has been working hard to make sure WRC is up to national BSA standards.  We're excited to show off our work!

Get those med forms ready!

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our camp orientation this past weekend!  It was a gorgeous day at the valley, hopefully a good omen for the weather this summer!

We would like to remind everyone that every camper and adult staying in camp MUST have a completed (parts A, B, and C) BSA medical form.  We are holding 2 collection dates for these forms.

Saturday, June 14 at the Chuckwagon from 9-3
Tues, June 17 at the Council office from 4-7pm

During these dates, we will look over the forms, check for missing parts, and make sure everything is good to go.  If not, we will give it back to you (or to the camp coordinator) to complete.  If it's good, we will hold it in a secure place at camp.  If you cannot turn your form in on either of the above dates, it MUST be brought to camp and turned in during check in.  If any parts are missing, however, your scout will be prohibited from participating in activities until it's completed.

Some important things to note...

*Part C is the doctor's form.  If he/she will not fill it out, a copy of the doctor's own physical form is fine.  Parts A and B are still required.
*There is a parental authorization form that is also required to be turned in with med forms.  This serves as our OTC form and also has other permissions on it.
*You must include a copy of your health insurance card.  This is the most commonly missed part!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
